Our variety of ferry and waterbus services can help you plan your own adventures. If you don’t have a bike, it’s easy to hire one at Cruise Loch Lomond’s base in Tarbet.
There are woodland routes in the Argyll and Queen Elizabeth Forest Parks. The West Loch Lomond Cycle Path takes you along the shores of Loch Lomond, while cycling from Rowardennan to Balmaha is also popular – with lunch at the Oak Tree Inn. From Inversnaid access the Great Trossachs Forest cycle tracks or follow the Old Military Road to Loch Katrine on our Two Lochs Tour.
Our Favourite Routes
Cycle south from Tarbet, initially on the pavement, and then join the old road to enjoy the tranquillity of the cycle path along the bonnie banks.
There are numerous beaches to stop and allow you to take in the stunning views north to the Highlands and after 5 miles enjoy a refreshment or local ale in the Inn on Loch Lomond at Inverbeg.
A further 4 miles brings to you to the conservation village of Luss with numerous options for lunch: - Lodge on Loch Lomond; Loch Lomond Arms Hotel; the Village Rest; Coach House or Luss Seafood Bar.
There is the option to catch the 1615hrs Waterbus from Luss Pier back to Tarbet returning at 1730hrs (ferry rates apply) or cycle back retracing your steps.
Opportunity to combine Loch Lomond with Loch Katrine with scheduled Waterbus Services.
Catch the 1000hrs Waterbus service from Tarbet with bike to the peaceful hamlet of Inversnaid on the eastern shore.
Following the initial climb into the Trossachs, enjoy stunning views from gentle undulating single road alongside the Great Trossachs Path to Stronachlachlar (4 miles) and then continue around Loch Katrine or take advantage of combined Waterbus service to cruise on the Sir Walter Scott to Trossachs Pier where you can disembark for return cycle back to Inversnaid (17 miles) Refreshments and lunch available in Inversnaid Hotel; Bunkhouse; Pier Cafe or Brenachoile, Trossachs Pier.

Catch 0845hrs Waterbus service from Tarbet Pier and disembark at Rowardennan on the eastern shore for cycle south.
Enjoy stunning views both west to Glen Douglas and north to the Arrochar Alps. The 7 mile cycle on gentle undulating single track road brings you to Balmaha where you have the opportunity to visit the National Park Visitor Centre or for the more active, park your bike, and climb Conic Hill (350m).
A warm welcome awaits you at The Oak Tree Inn for a hearty lunch, local ales and luxury Loch Lomond ice cream. There is ample time for return cycle to Rowardennan and catch 1645hrs Waterbus back to Tarbet.
